Useful Resources

I’m discovering helpful resources all the time so this is by no means an exhaustive list!  I have also stumbled across other blogsites and websites which have far, far more detailed lists of useful information than is listed here, but here are a few which I have found helpful and which have bought me joy and comfort.

Where do we start with music eh?! There are so many songs and you’ll know what moves your heart to tears or joy. Here are some of the gems I’ve uncovered along the way but there are many, many more.

The Undoing album – Steffany Gretzinger

Brave New World album – Amanda Cook

Intimacy album – Jaye Thomas

Still Believe album – Kim Walker-Smith

After All These Years album – Brian and Jenn Johnson

Any songs by Housefires that you can get your hands on!

Empires album – Hillsong United (especially ‘Here Now (Madness)’)

Drawn to You – Audrey Assad

How Can It Be album by Lauren Daigle

God You Are – Ben Smith

Promises – Maverick City Music

House of Miracles – Brandon Lake

Alabastar Jar – Rend Collective

Whatever music helps you connect to God and speaks good words over your life, get your ears plugged in and take time to do it every day!

Talks and blogs:

Arianna Walker’s sermon Turning Pain into Pearls

Charlotte Gambill’s diary post on her struggles with infertility

Waiting for a Baby Bird blog

International House of Prayer 24/7 Prayer session podcasts

Whoever preaches and sets your soul alight: RT Wright, Danielle Strickland, Graham Cooke, Bethel, Pete Greig… just fill your ears with God’s truth and hope.

Christmas can also be a really difficult time during infertility, when hopes of starting a family aren’t realised and being amongst family feels bittersweet and the ‘brave face’ has to be plastered on.  2014’s Advent series for the RZIM Zacharias Trust by Amy Orr-Ewing really helped me through the month of December as the countdown to the miracle of Jesus’ birth is remembered and celebrated.  Well worth a listen at any time of year….The time is now.
